We all appreciate a good night’s sleep but this gift has more significance in the villages we work in.
There is a rainy season in Guatemala and because their homes are often built into the mountainside or alongside the dump rainwater comes pouring in and people have to try to sleep standing up. These rains also bring in debris, animals, and toxins. A bed offers safer, healthier conditions.
The second reason is personal space. We don’t want adults and children all crowding into one bed for all kinds of reasons. This bed offers the dignity of a healthy space and a good night's rest.
