Clean water is essential for all of us to live healthy, productive lives. Without it, dangers of diseases like cholera, diarrhoea (diarrheal diseases or sickness), respiratory diseases, typhoid and polio are more prevalent as well as numerous tropical diseases.
In Guatemala, they have water available but it carries all kinds of microbial dangers. Your gift of a water filter actually saves lives, especially small children and the elderly who are more vulnerable to some of the diseases listed above.
The water filters we use -called Eco-filters- are manufactured and purchased in Guatemala City which helps their economy. They last about 2 -3 years and then need to be replaced.
This donation includes the local cost to obtain and deliver the water filter.
